Veach's Five Off-Season Moves Lead Chiefs to the Super Bowl
Brett Veach may have some work cut out for him on offense this season but his 2023 offseason on defense was masterful
It’s hard to believe that after Veach's draft in 2022, he could one-up the performance in 2023, but he did just that. Five key moves have led the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl in back-to-back seasons for the second time in five years. Kansas City is playing the 49ers because of Veach's smart moves that could continue paying dividends in 2024.
Franchise tagging Chris Jones
There is no more significant move in the offseason for the Chiefs than keeping Chris Jones in Kansas City. While there are questions about whether or not he will be back in 2024, he has been dominant in 2023. Veach showed his ability to get creative by using incentives to get Jones to report to the Chiefs the second week of the season. Jones’ presence on the defensive line has been immense all season, and I think he’s poised for a huge Super Bowl.
