Chiefs Win at Chargers 13 - 12 - Game Balls
The Chiefs defense definitely had their work cut out for them playing mostly the second team.
The Chiefs were able to hold on and get a victory against the Chargers on Sunday afternoon. After what looked to be a very long defensive struggle where neither offense could get going, the defense did just enough to win in the end. The Chargers could only muster four field goals on the day, which wasn’t enough in the end, with the Chiefs getting a defensive TD.
Mike Edwards
Edwards's return against the Chargers was great, and he almost ran out of gas on the way to the end zone. He has continued to shine in moments for the Chiefs’ defense when he is called upon and has come up big when they needed it most. On Saturday, he will face off against the Dolphins in a rematch of the earlier Germany game. Edwards recovered Hill’s fumble that was forced by McDuffie and pitched it to Cook, who took it back for a score.
Charles Omenihu
Omenihu played hard throughout his time on the field on Sunday against the Chargers. No play was bigger than his timely strip-sack of Easton Stick that Edwards was able to return for a TD. The Chiefs have not been great at getting turnovers throughout the season, and if they want to make a deep playoff run, they need to find a way to create several more.
