Chiefs Sign Hollywood Brown to 1 Year Deal!
The Kansas City Chiefs have signed Marquise Brown to a 1 year $7 million dollar deal
The Kansas City Chiefs finally made a big move to help their wide receiver room and get Patrick Mahomes a new weapon. Brown fits a real need for the Chiefs and should give them the speed to take the top off a defense. With Kelce, Rice, and Brown, the Chiefs receiving threats should be enough to overwhelm all but the stringiest defenses.
As we know it right now, Brown's deal is for one year and $7 million. With incentives, he could earn up to $11 million. Since the minimum value is around $7 million, we can guess that the incentives are not likely to be earned(NLTBE). Let’s get into what that could mean for Brown and the Chiefs.
In 2023, Brown had 51 catches for 574 yards and 4 TDs. The easiest way for the Chiefs to give Brown the incentives he’d want is to give him incentives based on anything over his stats in 2022. For example, 55 catches, 600 yards, and five touchdowns would be enough for them to be considered NLTBE incentives. This means that if he hits any of the incentives, the Chiefs would have the amounts taken off their 2025 salary cap.
I will update this article when we know more about the incentives in the contract!
The “brown” is the stain in opposing DC’s pants w/ a real deep threat for PM15. I love the move.
