Free agency starts with the legal tampering period opening on March 11th at 11 AM Arrowhead time. The Chiefs don’t have much salary cap space to make any moves, but as I’ve already discussed, they can create space. Let’s look at where they could be looking to add help across the roster.

Quarterback

We can all agree the Chiefs have their starter for the foreseeable future. Currently, they need a veteran backup. Gabbert is a free agent, and if I were willing to bet, he would be back in Kansas City on another year's deal. The Chiefs aren’t likely to address this until much later in the free agency period, so it’s not something I expect to be done soon.

Need - Veteran backup
