Chiefs Draft OT Kingsley Sumataia!
The Chiefs just drafted their future LT and have crossed off both of their biggest needs!
This draft has been fantastic for the Chiefs so far. They got the WR help they needed in round one, and now they pick their left tackle at pick 63. The Chiefs selected tackle Kingsley Suamataia, and he is excited to be in KC blocking for Patty Mahomes! Let’s take a look at the trade, his athletic matrix, and the contract for the Chiefs’ newest draft pick!
The Trade
Two picks and two trades with playoff opponents from the 2023 season. I still can’t believe the Bills traded with the Chiefs, but then the Chiefs also traded with the 49ers. While some will argue moving up one spot doesn’t make sense for the Chiefs, it came out after the third round that the Chiefs started to try to trade up at 52 to get their new tackle. If you review all of the players that went in that 52 - 64 range, four tackles were taken, with the Chiefs taking Suamataia at 63.
