This number will likely get even more negative over the coming days before the Chiefs have to be officially under the salary cap when the new league starts on March 16th. The key date and time to be looking for when it comes to the official start of free agency is Wednesday, March 16th at 4:00 PM ET. This is when the trades we’ve been hearing about for the past week across the NFL can become official.
So what can the Chiefs do with the limited space they will have? How can they bolster the offense and reshape the defense with the little cap space that they have? How can different contract options create big money for free agents up front while allowing for a smaller cap hit for the team in 2022?
